Paihia - 2013
We landed in New Zealand in early February and decided after a few weeks of hectic stress to take a weekend away in the beautiful coastal town of Pihia, in Northland. We spent the weekend travelling to islands in the famous Bay of Islands, ate fish and chips til we burst, and shopped around like typical tourists. Pihia is an amazing place to visit if you're looking for a way to get away and escape the rush of city life, while still having acess to everything you need. It is a great coastal spot to spend a few days just laying on the beach, taking a ferry and exploring mueseums and cultural artefacts. We also headed to the glow worm caves in Waitomato, the chocolate factory in Kerekere, and the waterfall in Whangarei. These are also great places to stop at on your drive down to Auckland.
